Mechanism

Stabilized GHRH(1-44) analog that binds pituitary GHRH receptors, raising pulsatile GH and IGF-1, which drives lipolysis preferentially in visceral adipose tissue.

Overview

Tesamorelin is a synthetic GHRH analog FDA-approved (Egrifta) for reduction of visceral adipose tissue in HIV-associated lipodystrophy. It is one of the most potent GH secretagogues available and strongly reduces visceral fat. It has also been studied for cognitive benefits in older adults.
